Transmit – Bundanon Trust Program 2015 |

For the second year running, Ulladulla High has participated in the Bundanon Trust Transmit Program, which showcases the talents of Shoalhaven’s Indigenous students in the field of performing arts.

The program allowed our students to work with spoken-word poet Candy Royalle, Peta Strachan and the team from NAISDA, and internationally-renowned didgeridoo player William Barton over a period of several weeks. The results were performances that were student-driven, unique and of an exceptionally high standard.

This year, Ulladulla High took seventeen students to the Bundanon Trust Sanctuary for three days in the lead up to the big performance at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre. Our students used this time to rehearse, explore the beautiful grounds and bond as a group. Our students represented Ulladulla High and their community with pride, passion and dedication, and the quality of many of their performances was beyond that of a high school show.

This program allowed our Aboriginal students the opportunity to learn traditional and modern cultural practices, to connect with Aboriginal leaders and each other, and to be celebrated for who they are and what they are capable of.
